DESCRIPTION:This scenic half marathon course offers miles of water views\, from inner harbor\, to open ocean\, to lakes and tidal rivers. It crosses over two islands and a historic footbridge. It passes by three ocean-side parks\, and through the waterfront harbor village. The 5K course winds through one of Boothbay Region Land Trust Preserves on the peninsula and takes place in a wooded nature preserve. Anyone can chose between a 5 mile which follows a route that is mostly flat with 1 hill climb. There is a 1 mile flat course for those who want a shorter event. Find a partner and get ready for the Summer Solstice SwimRun!\nStarting and ending at the historic Sky Lodge in Moose River\, Maine\, the Summer Solstice SwimRun is an event for seasoned endurance athletes\, SwimRun newbies\, and fun for the entire family. The Moose River valley is a favorite spot for winter snowmobiling\, skiing and snowshoeing\, fall leaf peeping and hunting\, and summer rafting\, ATV\, hiking\, and trail biking. Come experience the region’s cultural and natural history in a new way with either a beginner-friendly short course race of approximately 10.3 kilometers or a challenging long course race of just over 26 kilometers. There will also be fitness activities for families and community members while racers are on the course.\nWhat is SwimRun?\nRun\, swim\, scramble\, repeat. SwimRun is a growing sport that entails teams of two participants making their way together around a point-to-point race course with alternating segments of running and open water swimming. Teams may be female\, male\, or co-ed.\nTeams must bring all their gear with them to minimize transitions. Participants run in their wetsuits and swim with their shoes. Partners are tethered during the swims\, and safety is the number one priority. Fun is close second!

DESCRIPTION:The Lake Auburn 7th Annual Half Marathon event course includes beautiful views of Lake Auburn and the surrounding countryside\, making this one of the most scenic half marathons in Maine to participate in. We have partnered with Baxter Brewing Company as the location for packet pick-up in the afternoon/evening before the event. There will also be an opportunity on the morning of the event for packet pick-up at Central Maine Community College. DESCRIPTION:Lace up your walking and running shoes and join us for the KAT-Walk & Karo-5K for Maine Brain Aneurysm Awareness. This 10th annual event will benefit our local efforts to support early detection\, education\, fund research and create awareness about brain aneurysms in Maine and northern New England.\nThis year’s event will be held on Saturday\, September 8th 2018\, along the Back Cove Boulevard in Portland\, Maine. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. on the pathway across from the Hannaford Plaza and the walk & run will take place at noon. The whole family is invited for a leisurely walk or to enter the timed 5K run. This will be a special day to remember and honor loved ones lost to or having survived a brain aneurysm.\nThe KAT-Walk originated in memory of Kimberly A.Tudor\, a Portland native\, Deering HS and UNE graduate and athlete\, who lost her life to a sudden brain aneurysm in December 2008. The Karo-5K is in memory of Karolina A. Kurka\, a Scarborough HS and UNH graduate who passed away from an undetected brain aneurysm in July 2011.\nSeptember is Maine Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged\, however day-of registration will be available Saturday between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at the Casco Community Center on Route 121 in Casco Village.\nAll contestants are required to check in at registration prior to the start of the race\, even if they are pre-registered.The first 250 pre-registrants will receive a Casco Days Road Race t-shirt. SUMMARY:Maine State Kids' Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:This is a fun\, untimed event that begins at 11 AM on August 4 and is geared towards children ages 8-14. It is set up in a race format with the goal of being fun and challenging for most. The course includes a 100 yard swim in a small pond\, 3 mile bike ride and 1 mile run both along rural roads. The entry fee is $25 and all funds are used to support the Bethel Outing Club\, a non-profit that supports self-powered outdoor activities. The Club hopes to have a t-shirt and medal for those who participate\, including day-of-event registrants. Online registration in advance is preferred (closes 4:00 pm Friday\, August 3\, 2018) but day-of-event registration is accepted onsite from 9:30 – 10:30 am.

DESCRIPTION:Canada and the USA: Two countries four events – Marathon\, Half Marathon\, Ultramarathon\, 10K. Plus a Fun Run\, running tour of Lubec\, Lobster bake\, street fair\, and more. Run from the most easterly point in the USA through the border into Canada (without stopping) and back. Or just run from Canada into the USA in the half marathon. A not for profit Boston Qualifying event put on by the communities of Campobello Island\, New Brunswick and Lubec\, Maine\, now in it’s sixth year. An event for the discerning runner – all fields capped at 350 runners; no crowds or traffic lights; beautiful scenery\, fishing villages and the world’s biggest tides; bald eagles\, seals\, sometimes whales seen from the course; medals and awards handcrafted by local artists; warm welcoming hospitality.
